What is a class or cell?
Rev. Richard Ryland teaching Grantham Class basic approach to studying a Bible.
What used to be known as CELL then has now changed to "CLASS" to conform with term used by the founder of Methodism, John Wesley. According to him, a class was a small intimate group of about 10-12 people who met weekly to provide spiritual accountability, encourage personal growth, and collect financial contributions for the Methodist movement. These meetings focused on the spiritual well-being of members, with a designated "class leader" inquiring how their souls prospered and how they were attending to the general rules of the societies, which included doing no harm, doing good, and attending to God's ordinances.
